Description
BORNIT® – Unibit is a solvent-free bitumen emulsion coating, which has been modified and elastified by synthetic rubber. It’s ready for cold application as an universal protective coat against water and moisture.
Use
BORNIT®-Unibit is used for waterproofing of concrete, plaster and construction components against ground dampness and for the rehabilitation of mastic-bitumen roofing.
It is also used as a bitumen emulsion primer, by diluting and mixing 1 : 1 with water.
Advantages
• easy application, because the product is ready to use
• universal usage, priming under a whole range of products
• does not contain solvents
• economical from the point of view of low tool and application requirements
Technical Data
Substrate
All surfaces must be clean and free from oil, grease, loosely adhering parts and all those substances, which could decrease the product’s gripping properties.
The surfaces can be damp but not wet. Highly absorbent substrates have to be pretreated with BORNIT®- Grundbit.
Application
BORNIT®- Unibit is ready to use, but it must be mixed well prior to use. BORNIT® – Unibit is used as a bonding primer at a dilution of 1 : 1 with water, while the other coats are carried out without diluting the product.
Application is carried out using a bitumen brush or broom.
BORNIT® – Unibit may not be applied during rain or frosts.
During the first 24 hours, it is necessary to protect the coating from rain and frost.
The drying period is about 24 hours.

Storage
storage period: In original, closed packing at least 6 months.
It is necessary to protect the product from frost!
