BasesBases must be solid, dry, clean, load bearing and free of dust and other contaminants. Old paint, which no longer adheres to the base, must be removed. Where possible, old roof surfaces should be cleaned using pressurised water and thoroughly cleaned and cleared of any loose particles (consult the appropriate guidelines). Extremely damaged tiles or slabs should be replaced.
ApplicationBORNIT® Roof Paint 230 can be applied by brush, roller or spraying equipment (airless) and it quickly becomes resistant to rain at a temperature of 20°C. Highly absorbent bases must be primed using the roof paint diluted with 10% water or the BORNIT® Roof Primer 220. Then the undiluted paint is applied in two coats. The product can be painted over in 4 – 6 hours at 20°C. The minimum temperature for the material, the base and the atmosphere is +5°C. Do not apply the paint to surfaces under direct sunlight or if the onset of rain threatens.
ConsumptionAccording to the state of the base: about 0.25 to 0.30 litres/m² per coat. Two coats are required. In order to ascertain the exact consumption, carry out a test on a small area.
Storage Store in a dry and cool place and protect from freezing. The storage period is at least 6 months. Do not heat to over +35°C as this shortens the storage period.
