BORNIT® Bitumen Mastic
Bituminous filler compound for surfaces and end seals;  UV-resistant, good adhesion to concrete, masonry, plaster,  bituminous surfaces and metal substrates. For sealing coving joints along chimneys and wall transitions, crack-bridging, water-tight, contains solvent, workable down to -5°C. Prime with BORNIT® Bitumen Primer. Tested in compliance with AIB.

BORNIT® Bitumen Mastic is a trowelable solvent-based bituminous sealant for cold apllication. The product is UV-resistant, strong bond and asbestos-free. BORNIT® Bitumen Mastic is resistant to non-oxidising acids. It contains stabilising additives, as well as additives which prevent settling.
BORNIT® Bitumen Mastic  does not contain PCK and PCB. It has been tested as per DIN 18 195, section 2 and AIB DS 385.

BORNIT® Bitumen Mastic  is used for smoothing and repair work in roof areas e.g. fibre cement, roofing membranes, hot-welded bitumen sheets, concrete and metal. It can be used for insulating the connection of roofs to chimneys and other roofing details.

All surfaces must be clean, dry and free from oil, grease, loosely adhering parts and all those substances, which could decrease the product’s gripping properties.
Use BORNIT® Bitumen bonding primer  before application on concrete, masonry and plaster. BORNIT® Bitumen Mastic is ready for immediate use cold application. Best results being achieved at temperatures above +10°C. Despite this, it is possible to work with the product at temperatures as low as-5°C. BORNIT® Bitumen Mastic is applied by using a spatula or a smoothing trowel. It can be applied in one layer up to a thickness of 5 mm.

Store cool and dry. Prevent directly solar radiation.
Keeping away from catching light sources !

Health and fire protection
Keep out of the reach of children.
Do not eat, drink or smoke while working.
When working ensure that there is sufficient ventilation!
Pay Attention to the actual version of TRGS.
Do not use in enclosed areas!
Only in liquid state flammable and dangerous to the environment.
Keep away from fire.
After evaporation of the solvent, there is no more danger for the environment.
The bitumen-film is not hazardous for human, as well as the environment.

Waste disposal 
Only empty containers may be disposed of. Product waste is disposed of according to guideline no. 080409* (glues and insulation materials, which contain organic solvents or other dangerous products).
