Waterproofing of the Heidenau Secondary School with Profi Hybrid 2C

The secondary school in Heidenau is undergoing comprehensive renovation, modernization, and expansion until 2029, with a total investment of around twelve million euros. A key part of these efforts is the renewal of the structural waterproofing – for which BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C was chosen.

Modern Technology Meets Proven Performance

Profi Hybrid 2C combines the advantages of flexible, polymer-modified thick coatings with the proven properties of traditional bitumen-based products. The result is a high-performance, durable seal – ideal for demanding renovation projects.

Efficient Application – Even on Existing Structures

The remaining old coating was cleaned, and damaged areas were repaired using BORNIT® Sealing Mortar. A primer coat of BORNIT® Stick Emulsion (mixed 1:1 with water) was then applied to ensure optimal adhesion. Due to the large surface area and the uneven substrate, an airless spray machine was used. The material was applied in two layers with a reinforcing fabric embedded in between – resulting in a total dry layer thickness of 4 mm.

Rapid Progress – Long-Lasting Protection

Thanks to the long hose length of 45 meters, the airless spraying machine did not need to be repositioned. This, combined with the fast application process, ensured maximum efficiency for the contractor. In addition, BORNIT® Profi Hybrid 2C impresses with its rapid rain resistance and quick drying times – even on older building materials.

By using this innovative sealing product and professional application by a specialist company, the conditions have been created for the secondary school in Heidenau to remain on solid, dry ground for the next 120 years.
